Stampin' Up Nature Walk Stamp

Happy Monday!!!

Tomorrow I will begin my Technique Tuesday's, so be sure to check in. With this card I used retired Stampin' Up designer series paper, punching it into squares and taping to cherry cobbler cardstock. I ran it through the bigshot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing folder, making it look quilted. I stamped the bird cage and embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut it out and popped it on scallop cirlce. I then took cherry cobbler seam binding and tied a bow, embellishing with Tiny Tags punch and the Tiny Tags Stamps. All these Items were from Stampin' Up.

Have a great day!!

Mixed Media Card

For this card I took a piece of chipboard, added Claudine Hellmuth Studio Multi Medium Matte and covered with a piece of designer paper. I distressed (Tim Holtz) the paper using direct to paper technique, then covered with more matte finish. Let Dry!! I added die cut and stamped images (Tim Holtz) and added rub-on's. Added more matte finish, let dry. Then added embellishments. I stuck card to black card stock, then with Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise card stock.

This was my first mixed media card and I love how it turned out! Try it! You can't mess it up!

Have a great Sunday,

Bind- It-All

Happy Monday!!
Yesterday, my 13 year old daughter needed help decorating the cover of her poem book, for school. Do you find that your kids come to you for all the decorating? Anyway, I used my bind-it-all. I took two cardboard pieces, from the back of designer paper, and covered all 4 sides with textured black card stock. I printed out on white cardstock, her name, then embossed the word believe (Unity Stamp) with holographic embossing powder. Realizing that I should have done it on a darker sheet of paper, I decided to cover the whole page with distress ink, milled lavender, from Tim Holtz. I added a couple of flowers with some glitter brads, then bound it with 1/2 inch coil. It turned out really nice! I read her poems and some brought tears to my eyes. She was wondering what to do if her teacher asked to keep it, she said she didn't like to say no. I told her it would be an honor for her teacher to keep it. We will see.... Sorry about the pic being crooked, I took it late last night and I was super tired.

Have a nice day!!

Slick the Krafty Cat!!

Ohhhh he makes me so mad!! He gets on top of the freezer and sits in the chip box. The bags of chips popped open, so when the kids went to eat them, they were stale.
Bad Kitty!!!

Homemade Distress Ink blending tools

Happy Sunday!!
If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching Leanne on her youtube videos, you are missing out! Her channel is luvleescrappin and she has a lot of homemade videos. I ran across her videos, looking for how to make homemade blending tools. I loved her ideas and this is what I came up with.

I think the total price was about $20. I went to Lowes Hardware and had them cut the wood down for me. My wonderful husband sanded them down and I added the thick sticky tape and the Velcro. I purchased Tim Holtz sponges and put them on the bottom. Tim Holtz handles sell for $5.99, so I saved a ton of money. And this way, I don’t have to keep changing out the sponges. Thanks Leanne for sharing!!
I store all my ink pads on stands from Sue Nagel’s shop, Stampin I love having my ink pads stored and ready for easy use!

Have a nice day!

What's your favorite Scentsy scent?

This was yesterday's post, but blogger was down. I hope to stamp, tonight. :)

I’m still helping my Katie recover, from her surgery, so no stamping today. So I will talk about another product.
Have you tried Scentsy? I had the pleasure of learning about this product, a little over a month ago. Scentsy is a wickless candle that uses a warming pot, without any fire. The pot uses a light bulb to warm the scent. I have to say that I love my scentsy products. I’m sure my consultant is laughing, because at first I had trouble finding smells that I liked. Some gave me headaches and we had to try really hard to find scents that I liked. I think I might have driven her crazy!! Anyway, I found some that I love.

Here are my favorites:
Enchanted Mist and Sugar Cookie (my absolute fave)
Skinny Dippin’
Perfectly Pomegranate and Vanilla Cream
Sweet Pea and Vanilla (this one is just one scent)
Go-Go Goji and Vanilla Cream
Flirtatious and Sugar
Flutter (this is my 2nd fave)

I purchased 2 different packages. The first came with 2 full size warmers and 6 Scentsy bars. I got the angel in the picture and also a cross warmer. The 2nd came with2 plug-in warmers and 6 Scentsy bars. I promised my consultant that if she just stuck with me and helped me find what I would like, that I would be her best customer. And she did just that! If you need a consultant here is Marissa’s website
Have a great day!!

Pay it Forward

So I found the sweetest idea over at Scrappin Mamma!
Here is what she posted

"Pay It Forward" is the idea of blessing someone with a random act of kindness without expecting anything in return. It’s passing on a kindness, hoping that your recipients will do the same, and forming a never-ending chain of goodwill. But it isn’t only kindness, it is also a means to connect and share instead of just keeping it to ourselves.

"I promise to send an original creation to the (1st) 5 people who leave a comment here. They must, in turn, post this on there blog, and send something they make to the 1st 5 people who comment on their status."

Here's what you need to do:
1. Leave a comment on this post. I will send a handmade gift to the first 5 commenters.
2. Create a post on your blog offering the same.
3. Send a handmade item to your first 5 commenters.
4. It must be sent to your 5 people sometime in 2011.
Please do not sign up unless you are fully committed to making your 5 items!

Trash to Treasure

Wow, look what I found!! Everyone knows that stampers and scrapbookers need tons of storage space. I live in a college town and they will throw anything out. I found this in my neighborhood, on the side of the road. The wheel was broken and my husband fixed it within 2 minutes. I'm a neat freak, so I love to hide my craft items. This will be perfect for my stamps! The gate you see in one of the pics is so my dogs stay out of my office. :)

Have a wonderful day!!!

Some of my favorite projects

These are the books Katie and I made with my new Bind-It-All. We used index cards for the inside.

This lace is so pretty!!

I used water color pencils, on this one.

This is one of my favorites, because I used the quilted technique. And I love this stamp. I hope they put it in the new cattie.

I've had these made for a while, so I would have to take some time to explain each one. If you have any questions, just let me know.

Have a super day!!!

Major Decision

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!! I did!! I made a huge decision. I'm going to take a break from school and spend more time with my family, stamping too :)

Katie had her surgery, on Friday, and is finally feeling a little better!! She had her tonsils and adenoids out and also sinus surgery. Today, she smiled at me. My heart swelled!!
Now I think it is time I post some more cards.

Have a nice day!
